Very important is a home loss of second ranked Zolotoi Vek (12-6) against fifth ranked Politekhn.Lvov (10-8) on Sunday night. Host Zolotoi Vek was defeated by Politekhn.Lvov in Kirovograd 96-79. The game was mostly controlled by Politekhn.Lvov. Zolotoi Vek managed to win second period 24-23. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Politekhn.Lvov dominated down low during the game scoring 64 of its points in the paint compared to Zolotoi Vek's 44. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. Forward Dmytro Khodov (203-87) fired a double-double by scoring 13 points, 14 rebounds and 6 assists for the winners. Politekhn.Lvov's coach Yaroslav Zubrytskyy used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Power forward Andriy Kulish (205-92) produced a double-double by scoring 29 points and 11 rebounds and center Yevgen Vornik (208-86) added 17 points and 6 rebounds respectively for lost side. Five Politekhn.Lvov and four Zolotoi Vek players scored in double figures. Politekhn.Lvov moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Khimik-2. Loser Zolotoi Vek keeps the second position with six games lost. They share it with Hoverla. Politekhn.Lvov will meet at home league's leader Krivbas-2 in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Zolotoi Vek will play against the league's second-placed Hoverla in Frankivsk and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
