Regular Season Round 24: Besiktas - Best Balikesir 84-75

Not a big story in a game in Istanbul where 15th ranked Balikesir (5-19) was defeated by third ranked Besiktas (19-5) 84-75 on Saturday. Besiktas looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of American-Tunisian Michael Roll (197-87, college: UCLA) who helped to win the game recording 11 points, 5 rebounds and 7 assists and Serbian center Vladimir Stimac (210-87, agency: Interperformances) who added 11 points and 9 rebounds during the contest. The best for the losing side was American power forward Joey Dorsey (206-83, college: Memphis) with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 13 rebounds (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field) and his fellow American import point guard Alfrie Kelley (183-85, college: S.Carolina) scored 15 points and 7 assists. Five Besiktas and four Balikesir players scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Besiktas have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain third position with 19-5 record having just three points less than leader Fenerbahce. Newly promoted Balikesir keeps the fifteenth place with 19 games lost. Besiktas will face Tofas (#9) in Bursa in the next round where they are favorite. Balikesir will play at home against TED Kolejliler (#16) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
