A very interesting game took place in Giresun. This derby game ended with only one-point home defeat of 10th ranked Yesilgiresun Bld (9-15) to seventh ranked Pinar Karsiyaka (13-11) 82-81 on Saturday evening. Pinar Karsiyaka players were unselfish on offense dishing 21 assists. It was a good game for Polish swingman Mateusz Ponitka (196-93) who saved his team from a defeat with 20 points and 6 rebounds. American point guard JCovan Brown (188-90, college: Texas) contributed with 18 points and 7 assists for the winners. American Ricky Ledo (201-92, college: Providence) replied with 20 points and 5 rebounds and American-Romanian point guard Malcolm Armstead (187-89, college: Wichita St., agency: Three Eye Sports) added 18 points and 7 assists in the effort for Yesilgiresun Bld. Four Yesilgiresun Bld players scored in double figures. Pinar Karsiyaka maintains seventh position with 13-11 record. Yesilgiresun Bld lost third consecutive game. They keep the tenth place with 15 games lost. Pinar Karsiyaka's next round opponent will be league's second-placed Anadolu Efes in Istanbul and they do not belong to the favorites in that game.
