Regular Season Round 27: Koblenz - Kaiserslautern 87-63

Very expected game when 9th ranked Kaiserslautern (10-16) was crushed on the road by third ranked Koblenz (17-9) 87-63 on Saturday. Koblenz made 21-of-21 free shots (100 percent !!!) during the game. They also forced 26 Kaiserslautern turnovers. Koblenz looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. It was a great evening for British Louis Sayers (199-92) who led his team to a victory scoring 15 points and 7 rebounds. Croatian point guard Zeljko Novak (184-89) helped adding 14 points and 4 assists. Four Koblenz players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was American point guard Japhet McNeil (183-85, college: Bridgeport) with 19 points and forward Waldemar Nap (202-93) scored 10 points and 6 rebounds. Kaiserslautern's coach Jan Christmann gave up on the game allowing to play ten players seeing no chance for a win. Koblenz maintains third place in South-West with 17-9 record having four points less than leader Schwelm. Kaiserslautern lost their third game in a row. They keep the ninth position with 16 games lost.
