There was a small surprise when twelfth ranked Zwickau (8-17) defeated at home 10th ranked Ansbach (10-15) 94-82 on Saturday. Zwickau made 17-of-21 free shots (81.0 percent) during the game. Zwickau outrebounded Ansbach 41-29 including 32 on the defensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. It was a great evening for guard Hendrik Bellscheidt (193-90) who led his team to a victory scoring 24 points, 8 rebounds and 8 assists. Center Mario Nagler (203-87) helped adding 21 points and 11 rebounds. The best for the losing side was American power forward Nick Freer (198-85, college: Grand Valley St.) with a double-double by scoring 28 points and 11 rebounds and naturalized Croatian point guard Goran Petrovic (184-77) scored 10 points and 5 assists. Zwickau maintains twelfth place in South-East with 8-17 record. Loser Ansbach keeps the tenth position with 15 games lost. Zwickau will face higher ranked Rosenheim (#9) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
