Regular Season Round 27: Gaziantep - Besiktas 59-67

The game in Gaziantep was quite interesting. Third ranked Besiktas (22-5) played at the court of 8th ranked Gaziantep (13-14). Besiktas managed to secure a 8-point victory 67-59 on Sunday. Besiktas outrebounded Gaziantep 51-33 including a 15-3 advantage in offensive rebounds. It was a great evening for American-Tunisian Michael Roll (197-87, college: UCLA) who led his team to a victory scoring 12 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. American forward Kyle Weems (198-89, college: Missouri St.) helped adding 13 points and 5 rebounds. Besiktas' coach Ufuk Sarica used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The best for the losing side was Canadian-American guard Andrew Rautins (193-86, college: Syracuse) with 13 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists and American point guard Will Cherry (185-91, college: Montana) scored 10 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Besiktas have an impressive series of six victories in a row. They maintain third place with 22-5 record having just one point less than leader Fenerbahce. Gaziantep at the other side keeps the eighth position with 14 games lost. Besiktas are looking forward to face Trabzonspor (#13) at home in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Gaziantep will play against TED Kolejliler (#16) in Ankara and is hoping to prove to their supporters that this time they can win.
