Regular Season Round 35: UBSC Graz - Gmunden 91-96 OT

Eighth-ranked UBSC Graz (7-25) made lots of trouble for second ranked Gmunden Swans (22-10) on Friday. The visitors from Gmunden managed to secure only five-point victory 96-91. However their fans expected much easier game. Gmunden Swans dominated down low during the game scoring 60 of its points in the paint compared to UBSC Graz's 38. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. UBSC Graz was plagued by 26 personal fouls down the stretch. The best player for the winners was Lithuanian center Povilas Gaidys (208-91, college: Southeastern, agency: SPORTlab Agency) who had a double-double by scoring 16 points and 12 rebounds. Naturalized German power forward Tilo Klette (206-77) chipped in 21 points (on 10-of-12 shooting from the field). Five Gmunden Swans players scored in double figures. International Anton Maresch (191-91) produced a double-double by scoring 41 points (!!!) and 10 assists and Montenegrin point guard Milos Krivokapic (185-96) added 17 points respectively for the hosts. Gmunden Swans maintains second place with 22-10 record having five points less than leader Oberwart. UBSC Graz lost third consecutive game. They keep the eighth position with 25 games lost. Gmunden Swans will face Arkadia Lions (#6) in Traiskirchen in the next round. UBSC Graz will play on the road against Kapfenberg Bulls and hope to win that game.
