Regular Season Round 1: Hagen BG - Herford 94-81

Hagen BG used a home court advantage and beat the opponent from Herford 94-81 on Saturday night. The hosts trailed by 2 points at the halftime before their 48-33 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. It was a great shooting night for Hagen BG especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 55.0 percentage. Quite impressive performance for Lithuanian forward Vytautas Nedzinskas (196-87) who helped to win the game recording 33 points (!!!) (on 11-of-14 shooting from the field). American David Golembiowski (203-89, college: SUNY Poly) contributed with 25 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. Canadian-British forward Kris Douse (198-86, college: Point Park) answered with 17 points and point guard Bastian Landgraf (194-95) added 8 points, 7 rebounds and 7 assists (made all of his seven free throws) in the effort for Herford. Herford's coach William Massenburg let to play ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Hagen BG will face Salzkotten (#14) at home in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Herford will play against Bonn II (#9) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
