An interesting game was played in Langen where Krofdorf/Gleib. beat host Rhein Main Baskets 57-49 on Saturday evening. The guests started the game with a very strong first quarter 16-6. But Rhein Main Baskets won second period 16-11. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Krofdorf/Gleib. dominated on the defensive end, holding Rhein Main Baskets to just 6 points in first quarter. They held Rhein Main Baskets to an opponent 25.0 percent shooting from the field compared to 26.2 percent accuracy of the winners. American guard Erin Bratcher (176-92, college: Charleston So.) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 23 points and 10 rebounds for the winners and Latvian guard Kate Aizsila (176-94, agency: LBM Management) chipped in 20 points and 6 rebounds. At the losing side point guard Pia Dietrich (168-94) responded with 15 points and 6 rebounds and Bosnian power forward Anja Stupar (182-89) scored 7 points and 9 rebounds. Rhein Main Baskets' coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Krofdorf/Gleib. will meet at home Weiterstadt (#4) in the next round. Rhein Main Baskets will play against Wasserburg II and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
