Very expected game in Prienai where Vytautas (0-3) was defeated by Neptunas (4-0) 94-78 on Sunday. Neptunas forced 28 Vytautas turnovers and outrebounded them 96-63 including a 35-24 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 41 assists. Vytautas was plagued by 44 personal fouls down the stretch. Colombian-Spanish power forward Juan Palacios (206-85) scored 15 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists to lead the charge for the winners and the former international Renaldas Seibutis (196-85) chipped in 19 points and 6 rebounds during the contest (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). Four Neptunas players scored in double figures. Neptunas' coach Kazys Maksvytis used an eleven-player rotation and allowed the starting five to get some rest. International forward Eigirdas Zukauskas (205-92) responded with 14 points and 5 assists (was perfect 7-for-7 from the free throw line) and swingman Tomas Dimsa (198-94) scored 15 points. Neptunas will face Juventus (#9) in Utena in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Vytautas will play on the road against Lietkabelis in Panevezys and hope to win that game.
