The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of Mitteldeutscher BC (1-1) on the court of BBC Bayreuth. Visitors were defeated by BBC Bayreuth 82-74. BBC Bayreuth outrebounded Mitteldeutscher BC 42-25 including a 29-17 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was a great shooting night for BBC Bayreuth especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 52.9 percentage. Egyptian forward Assem Marei (206-92, college: Minn.St.-Mankato) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 12 rebounds. American Nate Linhart (201-86, college: Akron) contributed with 15 points and 9 rebounds for the winners. Linhart is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. BBC Bayreuth's coach Raoul Korner allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. American forward Kruize Pinkins (203-93, college: USF) replied with 19 points and 8 rebounds and his fellow American import point guard Marcus Hatten (185-80, college: St.John's) added 19 points in the effort for Mitteldeutscher BC. Four Mitteldeutscher BC players scored in double figures. BBC Bayreuth will play against ratiopharm Ulm (#16) on the road in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Mitteldeutscher BC will play against ALBA Berlin (#6) to get more than just one victory in their record.
