Regular Season Round 3: Mykolaiv - Budivelnyk 67-96

The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of Mykolaiv (2-1) at the home court on Saturday night. Hosts were rolled over by Budivelnyk (3-0) 96-67. The game without a history. Budivelnyk led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Budivelnyk outrebounded Mykolaiv 43-32 including 29 on the defensive glass. It was a great shooting night for Budivelnyk especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 55.6 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists. It was a good game for American guard Brandon Fields (193-88, college: Nevada) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 10 points, 5 rebounds and 13 assists. The former international Ruslan Otverchenko (192-90, agency: Stanislav Ryzhov) contributed with 16 points for the winners. Four Budivelnyk players scored in double figures. Center Konstantin Anikenko (218-92) answered with 17 points and 6 rebounds and the former international guard Sergei Popov (196-88, agency: BeoBasket) added 10 points and 4 assists in the effort for Mykolaiv. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Budivelnyk are looking forward to face Dnipro in Dnepropetrovsk in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Mykolaiv will have a break next round.
