Regular Season Round 3: Khimik - Politekhnik 100-73
Date: October 7, 2017
Rather expected game when Politekhnik (0-3) was smashed by Khimik (2-0) in Yuzhny 100-73. The game was mostly controlled by Khimik. Politekhnik was better in fourth quarter 24-21. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Khimik players were unselfish on offense dishing 24 assists. It was a great evening for American point guard Derrick Colter (180-94, college: Duquesne, agency: Inception Sports) who led his team to a victory scoring 15 points and 5 assists. Sergiy Pavlov (203-97) helped adding 17 points. The best for the losing side was Serbian point guard Vuk Jovanovic (183-95) with 17 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists and power forward Anton Rochnyak (205-91) scored 16 points and 9 rebounds. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Khimik will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Politekhnik will play on the road against Cherkasy (#6) and hopes to get finally their first victory.
