Regular Season Round 4: Schwenningen - Tuebingen II 92-51

There was a small surprise when seventh ranked BV Villingen-Schwenningen (2-1) outleveled at home one of their biggest challengers Tuebingen II (2-1) 92-51 on Saturday. BV Villingen-Schwenningen forced 22 Tuebingen II turnovers and outrebounded them 44-32 including 32 on the defensive glass. BV Villingen-Schwenningen looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists comparing to just 7 passes made by Tuebingen II's players. Worth to mention a great performance of American-British forward Christian Behrens (206-92, college: California) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 22 points and 10 rebounds and Italian-Slovenian center Davor Barovic (211-90) who added 15 points and 11 rebounds during the contest. Five BV Villingen-Schwenningen players scored in double figures. At the losing side center Adrian Lind (206-94) responded with 10 points and 8 rebounds and Timo Liebelt (195-98) scored 2 points and 9 rebounds. Tuebingen II's coach gave up on the game allowing to play eleven players seeing no chance for a win. BV Villingen-Schwenningen moved-up to third place in South-West, which they share with 4 other teams including defeated Tuebingen II. BV Villingen-Schwenningen will face BG Karlsruhe (#14) on the road in the next round which should be another easy win for them. Tuebingen II will play against Koblenz (#5) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
