Rather predictable result when Gunners Oberwart (1-0) defeated at home UBSC Graz (0-2) 95-85. Gunners Oberwart forced 22 UBSC Graz turnovers. American forward Denzel Gregg (201, college: St.Bonaventure) notched 23 points and 4 assists to lead the effort and the other American import guard Cody Wichmann (196-94, college: Wisc.-Milwaukee) supported him with 18 points. Gunners Oberwart's coach Lluis Pino allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Even a double-double of 36 points (!!!) and 20 rebounds (on 14-of-15 shooting from the field) by American center Darien Nelson-Henry (211-94, college: Pennsylvania) did not help to save the game for UBSC Graz. Swingman Fabian Richter (191-95) added 20 points and 5 assists for the guests. Gunners Oberwart will play against Raiffeisen Flyers Wels (#7) at home in the next round. UBSC Graz will play against Furstenfeld Panthers and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
