There was no surprise in Balikesir where Bandirma Kir. (0-2) was crushed by TED Kolejliler (2-0) 87-65 on Sunday. The guests trailed by 3 points after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 16-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 87-65. TED Kolejliler outrebounded Bandirma Kir. 40-19 including a 31-14 advantage in defensive rebounds. They shot the lights out from three sinking 14 long-distance shots on high 70.0 percentage. TED Kolejliler looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. The best player for the winners was American center David Weaver (207-87, college: Wake Forest) who had a double-double by scoring 20 points and 15 rebounds. Swingman Mert Gizir (193-94) chipped in 21 points and 5 rebounds. Four TED Kolejliler players scored in double figures. Guard Sehmus Hazer (190-99) produced 21 points and point guard Ismail-Cem Ulusoy (183-96, agency: Octagon Europe) added 15 points respectively for the hosts. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. TED Kolejliler will face Socar Petkim (#9) at home in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Bandirma Kir. will play against Istanbulspor (#16) and hope to win that game.
