Important game to mention about took place in Weissenfels. Eighth ranked Deutsche Bank Skyliners (4-1) saved a 3-point victory on the road edging 10th ranked Mitteldeutscher BC (2-3) 96-93 on Sunday evening. Deutsche Bank Skyliners looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. Mitteldeutscher BC was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. The best player for the winners was Canadian-British guard Philip Scrubb (191-92) who scored 25 points and 5 assists. Center Jonas Wohlfarth-Bottermann (208-90) chipped in 22 points and 9 rebounds. American point guard Lamont Jones (183-90, college: Iona, agency: Stanislav Ryzhov) produced 23 points and the other American import guard Jordan Sibert (193-92, college: Dayton) added 23 points respectively for the hosts. Four Deutsche Bank Skyliners and five Mitteldeutscher BC players scored in double figures. Deutsche Bank Skyliners moved-up to third place, which they share with Bayreuth and B.Muenchen. Newly promoted Mitteldeutscher BC keeps the tenth position with three games lost. Deutsche Bank Skyliners will face BBC Bayreuth (#4) at home in the next round. Mitteldeutscher BC will play against Telekom Baskets (#8) in Bonn and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
