There was a surprise result when tenth ranked Coburg (1-3) edged at home higher ranked Bayer Giants (2-2) 92-89 on Sunday. Coburg made 24-of-27 free shots (88.9 percent) during the game. American forward Jordan Burris (201-92, college: CS San Bernar.) fired 18 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. American-Panamanian swingman Anell Alexis (200-90, college: Marist) chipped in 18 points. American forward Donovon Jack (206-93, college: Penn St.) produced a double-double by scoring 16 points, 10 rebounds and 4 blocks and his fellow American import guard C.J. Oldham (203-91, college: Gannon) added 13 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists respectively for lost side. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Coburg left bottom position moving up to eighth place in South, which they share with Dresden and Wuerzburg. Loser Bayer Giants dropped to the fifth position with two games lost. Coburg will face FC Bayern II (#11) in Muenchen in the next round. Bayer Giants will play at home against Titans (#9) and hope to win that game.
