Regular Season Round 2: Rilski 2 - Athletic Sofia 53-103

An interesting game for Athletic Sofia (2-0) which played road game in Samokov against Rilski 2 (0-1). Athletic Sofia had an easy win 103-53. Athletic Sofia dominated down low during the game scoring 76 of its points in the paint compared to Rilski 2's 44. Athletic Sofia forced 22 Rilski 2 turnovers and outrebounded them 45-31 including 34 on the defensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. Georgi Krastev (195-94) notched 16 points to lead the effort and Mihail Tanev (200-90) supported him with 16 points. Five Athletic Sofia players scored in double figures. Even 8 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists by swingman Miroslav Vasov (199-98) did not help to save the game for Rilski 2. Swingman Kristiyan Kolev (194-99) added 9 points for the hosts. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Athletic Sofia's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Sofia to the arena .
