Regular Season Round 5: Heidelberg - Hamburg 71-74

The most interesting game of round 5 was only three-point a home defeat of 5th ranked MLP Academics Heidelberg (3-2) to fourth ranked Hamburg (4-1) 74-71. It ended the two-game winning streak of MLP Academics Heidelberg. They outrebounded MLP Academics Heidelberg 38-27 including 27 on the defensive glass. Center Enosch Wolf (215-90, college: Connecticut) stepped up and scored 14 points and 9 rebounds for the winners and American forward Jonathon Williams (198-90, college: Wagner) chipped in 15 points and 6 rebounds. Four Hamburg players scored in double figures. American swingman Shy Ely (193-87, college: Evansville, agency: Diamond Sports) responded with 16 points (was perfect 8-for-8 from the free throw line) and guard Niklas Wuerzner (196-94) scored 12 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. Hamburg moved-up to second place, which they share with Crailsheim and Phoenix Hagen. MLP Academics Heidelberg at the other side keeps the fifth position with two games lost. They share it with 3 other teams. Hamburg is looking forward to face Nuernberg (#14) at home in the next round which should be an easy win for them.
