Regular Season Round 7: Taurages - Zalgiris II 74-78

We should mention about the upset which took place in Taurage, where 4th placed Taurages (5-2) lost at home to ninth ranked Zalgiris II (4-3) 74-78 on Friday. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Taurages. Zalgiris II made 18-of-23 free shots (78.3 percent) during the game. It was a great shooting night for Zalgiris II especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 53.3 percentage. Swingman Matas Jogela (198-98) fired a double-double by scoring 20 points and 10 rebounds for the winners. Point guard Rokas Jokubaitis (187-0) chipped in 16 points and 5 assists. Four Zalgiris II players scored in double figures. Zalgiris II's coach Tomas Masiulis used entire bench in such tough game. Forward Paulius Morkeliunas (202-85, college: LIU Brooklyn, agency: Octagon Europe) produced a double-double by scoring 16 points and 10 rebounds and Liudas Radavicius (188-88) added 14 points and 5 rebounds respectively for lost side. Zalgiris II moved-up to sixth place, which they share with 3 other teams. Newly promoted Taurages dropped to the second position with two games lost. Zalgiris II will face league's second-placed Suduva-Mantinga in Marijampole in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Taurages will play on the road against Palanga and hope to win that game.
