The game in Ovar was also worth to mention about. Third ranked Illiabum (4-1) played at the court of 8th ranked Ovarense (2-3). Illiabum defeated Ovarense 84-73. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Ovarense. It looked good early as Ovarense took a 4-point small lead at the end of first quarter. But then Illiabum had a 23-11 second period charge getting the lead and Ovarense was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 73-84. 27 personal fouls committed by Ovarense helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. American guard Jeff Early (190-88, college: S.Illinois) orchestrated the victory by scoring 33 points (!!!) and 6 rebounds. His fellow American import guard Ronnie Boggs (192-91, college: Jacksonville St.) contributed with 8 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists for the winners. Illiabum's coach Pedro Nuno Monteiro allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. American guard Kyle Anderson (190-93, college: Delaware) answered with 29 points and forward Joao Grosso (196-94) added 8 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists in the effort for Ovarense. Illiabum moved-up to second place, which they share with Oliveirense. Ovarense at the other side keeps the eighth position with three games lost. Illiabum's next round opponent will be Electrico FC (#10) in Ponte de Sor and are hoping to win another game. Ovarense will play on the road against Vitoria SC in Guimaraes and hope to win that game.
