Regular Season Round 8: Telsiai - Vytis 51-76

NKL top team - Vytis (7-1) had no problems winning another game. This time they crushed fifth ranked Telsiai (5-3) in Telsiu 76-51. They outrebounded Telsiai 53-34 including a 40-25 advantage in defensive rebounds. The best player for the winners was Gytis Radzevicius (195-95) who scored 12 points and 9 rebounds. American guard Brian Wanamaker (185-89, college: Texas Wesleyan) chipped in a double-double by scoring 10 points and 10 rebounds. Wanamaker is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Four Vytis players scored in double figures. Vytis' coach Aurimas Jasilionis felt very confident that he used entire bench and allowed the starting five to rest. Forward Audrius Maneikis (203-84, college: Motlow St. CC) produced 16 points and 5 rebounds and power forward Mindaugas Norkus (200-85) added 4 points and 8 rebounds respectively for the hosts. Vytis have an impressive five-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 7-1 record. Telsiai at the other side dropped to the third place with three games lost. Vytis' next round opponent will be Zalgiris II (#10) in Kaunas and are hoping to win another game. Telsiai will play at home against Jonava (#7) and hope to win that game.
