Regular Season Round 6: Bochum - Art.Dragons 73-88

An interesting game for Artland Dragons (4-1) which played road game in Bochum against 4th ranked AstroStars (3-3). Third ranked Artland Dragons had an easy win 88-73. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of AstroStars. Artland Dragons shot 62.5 percent from the field. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. It was a good game for American guard Pierre Bland (188-92, college: IPFW) who led his team to a victory with 22 points, 6 rebounds, 8 assists and 4 steals (on 9-of-11 shooting from the field). Center Leon Bahner (209-95, college: San Jose St.) contributed with 18 points and 7 rebounds (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field) for the winners. Four Artland Dragons players scored in double figures. Canadian guard Ashton Smith (187-89, college: Indiana, PA) replied with 17 points and 9 assists and forward Alexander Angerer (203-96) added 21 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for AstroStars. Both coaches tested many bench players saving starting five for next games. Artland Dragons have a solid four-game winning streak. They moved-up to second place in North. Loser AstroStars dropped to the fifth position with three games lost. Artland Dragons will face Itzehoe (#10) at home in the next round and are hoping to win another game. AstroStars will play against Oldenburg (#9) and hope to win that game.
