Regular Season Round 6: Vytautas - Juventus 68-77

Juventus can celebrate finally their first win this season after eight consecutive losses. The victory is especially important as it came on the road game in Prienai, where they defeated Vytautas (0-8) 77-68 on Saturday. Ukrainian power forward Maxym Korniyenko (205-87) had a double-double by scoring 11 points, 11 rebounds and 5 assists to lead the charge for the winners and American point guard Anthony Ireland (175-91, college: Loyola Mary, agency: Octagon Europe) chipped in 15 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists during the contest. Five Juventus players scored in double figures. Juventus' coach Gediminas Petrauskas used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The best for the losing side was international forward Eigirdas Zukauskas (205-92) with 14 points and 6 rebounds and forward Justas Sinica (203-85) scored 17 points and 5 rebounds. Juventus (1-8) left bottom position moving up to ninth place. It was Vytautas' eighth loss in a row. They still close the standings with eight games lost. Juventus will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Vytautas will play again against Juventus (#9) in Utena and hopes to get finally their first victory.
