Regular Season Round 7: Goetting.ASC - Stade 97-105

There was an upset when 4th placed Goetting.ASC (4-2) lost to eleventh ranked Stade (1-4) in Goettingen 97-105 on Saturday. Stade made 18-of-21 free shots (85.7 percent) during the game. Goetting.ASC was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a very good performance for American point guard Yettra Specks (178-95, college: Jackson St.) who helped to win the game recording 27 points, 5 rebounds and 7 assists (made all of his eight free throws). Swingman Janis Stielow (193-95) contributed with 20 points for the winners. Four Stade players scored in double figures. Stade's coach Paul Larysz allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Guard Andrew Onwuegbuzie (192-95) answered with 29 points and swingman Nick Boakye (197-95) added 24 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists (on 10-of-13 shooting from the field) in the effort for Goetting.ASC. Stade left bottom position moving up to ninth place in North, which they share with Wusterhausen and ALBA Berlin II. Newly promoted Goetting.ASC keeps the fourth position with two games lost. Stade will face higher ranked Weser Bsk/BTS (#7) in Neustadt in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Goetting.ASC will play on the road against Neustadt TSV and hope to win that game.
