Regular Season Round 7: Oldenburg - Bochum 75-67

There was a small surprise when ninth ranked Oldenburg (3-4) beat at home 7th ranked AstroStars (3-4) 75-67 on Tuesday. They outrebounded AstroStars 43-32 including a 37-26 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was a very good performance for power forward Marcel Kessen (207-97) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 22 points and 20 rebounds. Naturalized Bosnian point guard Robert Drijencic (190-96) contributed with 14 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. Four Oldenburg players scored in double figures. Oldenburg's coach Artur Gacaev used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to get some rest. American forward Davon Roberts (197-86, college: Azusa Pacific) answered with a double-double by scoring 13 points and 12 rebounds and Canadian guard Ashton Smith (187-89, college: Indiana, PA) added 15 points and 7 rebounds in the effort for AstroStars. Oldenburg moved-up to sixth place in North, which they share with Bochum and Rostock. Oldenburg will face RSV Eintracht (#12) in Stahnsdorf in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game.
