Regular Season Round 8: Neustadt TSV - Goetting.ASC 92-72

There was an upset when one of their biggest challengers Goetting.ASC (4-3) was rolled over on the road by eighth ranked Neustadt TSV (3-3) 92-72 on Saturday. Neustadt TSV dominated down low during the game scoring 64 of its points in the paint compared to Goetting.ASC's 42. They outrebounded Goetting.ASC 48-32 including 35 on the defensive glass. Worth to mention a great performance of American forward Jake Marvin (203, college: Hastings) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 20 points and 14 rebounds (on 9-of-11 shooting from the field) and Dutch power forward Jandell Hersisia (200-90) who added 18 points and 7 rebounds during the contest. Neustadt TSV's coach Allen Smith used an eleven-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Swingman Jorge Schmidt (193-85) responded with 19 points and 5 rebounds (was perfect 8-for-8 from the free throw line) and American center Dominic Nelson (208, college: SE Louisiana) scored 15 points and 9 rebounds. Four Neustadt TSV and five Goetting.ASC players scored in double figures. Neustadt TSV moved-up to seventh place in North. Goetting.ASC at the other side, also newcomer in the league, dropped to the sixth position with three games lost. Neustadt TSV's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Neustadt to the arena Weser Bsk/BTS.
