Regular Season Round 8: Leitershofen - Schwabing 85-90

There was a surprise result in Diedorf where eleventh ranked Schwabing (3-4) defeated higher ranked Topstar (4-3) 90-85 on Saturday. Strangely Topstar outrebounded Schwabing 35-20 including 23 on the defensive glass. Worth to mention a great performance of American forward Nathan Gibbs (204-89, college: Westmont) who helped to win the game recording 24 points and 4 steals and guard Kamillo Rosenthal (185-82) who added 20 points during the contest. Schwabing's coach used entire bench in such tough game. Naturalized American forward Dominik Veney (198-87) responded with 22 points and 5 rebounds and Serbian Milan Tesic (203-95) produced a double-double by scoring 12 points and 10 rebounds. Four Topstar players scored in double figures. Schwabing moved-up to eighth place in South-East, which they share with Ansbach. Loser Topstar dropped to the sixth position with three games lost. Schwabing will face higher ranked Oberhaching (#4) in Deisenhofen in the next round and it may be quite challenging game.
