Rather predictable result when fifth ranked MLP Academics Heidelberg (5-3) defeated at home 9th ranked Chemnitz (3-5) 89-75. Guard Niklas Wuerzner (196-94) orchestrated the victory by scoring 17 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists. American swingman Shy Ely (193-87, college: Evansville, agency: Diamond Sports) contributed with 21 points and 4 assists for the winners. Five MLP Academics Heidelberg players scored in double figures. MLP Academics Heidelberg's coach Branislav Ignjatovic used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. Guard Malte Ziegenhagen (198-91, college: Kaiser) replied with 19 points and forward Michael Fleischmann (205-86) added 15 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Chemnitz. MLP Academics Heidelberg maintains fifth position with 5-3 record, which they share with Hanau and Karlsruhe PS. Chemnitz at the other side dropped to the eleventh place with five games lost.
