Regular Season Round 9: Ebstorf - Westerstede 72-94

No shocking result in a game when eleventh ranked Westerstede (2-5) smashed on the road bottom-ranked Ebstorf (0-8) 94-72 on Saturday. Westerstede forced 24 Ebstorf turnovers and outrebounded them 42-29 including a 16-3 advantage in offensive rebounds. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Westerstede made 8 blocks. The best player for the winners was Marcello Schroeder (195-87) who scored 22 points and 8 rebounds. Center Till Isemann (210-96) chipped in a double-double by scoring 20 points, 10 rebounds and 5 blocks. Four Westerstede players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was swingman Konrad Burda (195-96) who recorded 25 points and point guard Rouven Lopez-Acebedo (177-90) added 14 points and 4 assists respectively. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. Westerstede moved-up to ninth place in North, which they share with Stade and ALBA Berlin II. Ebstorf lost their eighth game in a row. Newly promoted team still closes the standings with eight games lost. Westerstede will face higher ranked Vechta-2 (#5) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Ebstorf will play against ALBA-2 (#9) in Berlin and hopes to get finally their first victory.
