Regular Season Round 9: Bergedorf - ALBA Berlin II 79-72

There was no surprise in Hamburg where 9th ranked ALBA-2 (2-5) was defeated by third ranked Bergedorf (6-2) 79-72 on Saturday. Bergedorf forced 21 ALBA-2 turnovers. ALBA-2 was plagued by 28 personal fouls down the stretch. The best player for the winners was American guard Will Barnes (185-88, college: Lee) who scored 23 points and 4 assists. Forward Joscha Kolnisko (200-90) chipped in 11 points and 7 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was Franz Wagner (200-1) who recorded 28 points and Hendrik Drescher (204-0) added 20 points and 7 rebounds respectively. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Newly promoted Bergedorf maintains third place in North with 6-2 record having five points less than leader Muenster, which they share with Rendsburg. Loser ALBA-2 keeps the ninth position with five games lost. Bergedorf will face WSG Koenigs (#12) in Wildau in the next round and are hoping to win another game. ALBA-2 will play at home against Ebstorf and hope to win that game.
