Regular Season Round 6: Sakarya BSB - Besiktas 69-75

BSL round 6 most important game was a victory of Besiktas over 7th ranked Sakarya BSB 75-69 on Saturday night. Strangely Sakarya BSB outrebounded Besiktas 39-24 including 26 on the defensive glass. It was a good game for American-Armenian point guard Ryan Boatright (183-92, college: Connecticut) who led his team to a victory with 19 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists. American swingman Jon Diebler (198-88, college: Ohio St., agency: BeoBasket) contributed with 23 points for the winners. International forward Metecan Birsen (208-95) replied with 9 points, 12 rebounds and 4 assists and American point guard Lazeric Jones (182-90, college: UCLA) added 21 points (went 11 for 11 at the free throw line !!!) in the effort for Sakarya BSB. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Besiktas have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Fenerbahce. Newly promoted Sakarya BSB dropped to the sixth position with three games lost. They share it with 4 other teams. Besiktas' supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Istanbul Istanbul BBSK.
