Regular Season Round 9: Bernau - Bochum 76-69

Very expected game when 6th ranked AstroStars (4-5) were defeated on the road by second ranked SSV Lok Bernau (7-2) 76-69 on Sunday. The best player for the winners was American forward Dexter Werner (198-94, college: N.Dakota St.) who scored 25 points and 6 rebounds. His fellow American import guard Kory Brown (193-94, college: N.Dakota St.) chipped in 14 points. SSV Lok Bernau's coach Rene Schilling allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. At the other side the best for losing team was Canadian guard Ashton Smith (187-89, college: Indiana, PA) who recorded 18 points and forward Alexander Angerer (203-96) added 14 points and 6 rebounds respectively. The victory was the third consecutive win for SSV Lok Bernau. They maintain second place in North with 7-2 record behind leader Elchingen. Loser AstroStars dropped to the fifth position with five games lost. SSV Lok Bernau will face Artland Dragons (#4) in Quakenbrueck in the next round. AstroStars will play at home against SC Rist Wedel and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
