Not a big story in a game when 7th ranked Jonava (6-8) lost on the road to fifth ranked Taurages (8-6) 83-68 on Saturday. Taurages outrebounded Jonava 46-21 including a 18-6 advantage in offensive rebounds. Forward Paulius Morkeliunas (202-85, college: LIU Brooklyn, agency: Octagon Europe) notched 19 points and 6 rebounds to lead the effort and Liudas Radavicius (188-88) supported him with 17 points and 9 rebounds. Four Taurages players scored in double figures. Even 11 points and 8 rebounds by center Martynas Pacevicius (205-97, college: High School) did not help to save the game for Jonava. Nigerian-American guard Ebuka Anyaorah (193-90, college: N.C.Central) added 16 points for the guests. Jonava's coach Nerijus Zabarauskas rotated ten players and allowed the starting five to rest. Newly promoted Taurages maintains fifth position with 8-6 record. Loser Jonava dropped to the eighth place with eight games lost. They share the position with 3 other teams. Taurages will meet at home Perlas (#13) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Jonava will play against Neptunas-Akv. (#4) and hope to secure a win.
