Regular Season Round 15: Taurages - Perlas 57-74

An interesting game took place in Taurage where higher ranked Taurages (8-7) was upset on its own court by thirteenth ranked Perlas (5-10) 74-57 on Friday. The best player for the winners was forward Arnas Berucka (195-97, agency: Octagon Europe) who scored 17 points (went 8 for 8 at the free throw line). Guard Margiris Normantas (194-96) chipped in 8 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists. Perlas' coach Arvydas Gronskis used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the other side the best for losing team was point guard Tadas Sebeziovas (185-85) who recorded 12 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists and point guard Aivaras Kvedaravicius (185-88) added 16 points and 5 rebounds respectively. Perlas moved-up to twelfth place. Newly promoted Taurages keeps the fifth position with seven games lost. They share it with Zalgiris II and Telsiai. Perlas will meet at home higher ranked Ezerunas (#10) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Taurages will play against the league's leader Vytis (#1) where they are definitely not considered as a favorite in this game either.
