Regular Season Round 16: Vytis - Taurages 98-71

Leader Vytis delivered the fourteenth victory. This time they crushed 5th ranked Taurages (8-8) 98-71 in Sakiai. Vytis made 17-of-22 charity shots (77.3 percent) during the game. They also forced 20 Taurages turnovers. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 25 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of Gytis Radzevicius (195-95) who helped to win the game recording 14 points and 7 rebounds. Guard Paulius Beliavicius (194-88) contributed with 15 points and 5 assists for the winners. Vytis' coach Aurimas Jasilionis felt very confident that he used 11 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Power forward Rokas Cepanonis (207-89) replied with 24 points and 6 rebounds and forward Tomas Milinskas (203-90) added 11 points and 9 rebounds in the effort for Taurages. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Vytis maintains first position with 14-2 record. Newly promoted Taurages dropped to the sixth place with eight games lost. They share the position with Ereliai Mazeikiai and Zalgiris II. Vytis will play against Ezerunas (#12) in Moletai in the next round which should be another easy win for them. Taurages will play on the road against Neptunas-Akv. (#4) in Klaipeda and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
