Regular Season Round 11: Mainz - Kronberg 79-81

We cannot really consider it an upset in the game between close teams when 11th ranked Mainz (3-7) was edged at home by twelfth ranked Kronberg (3-7) 81-79 on Sunday. Center Julian Reinwald (209) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 10 rebounds. Guard Yannick Schicktanz (186-90) contributed with 12 points and 6 assists for the winners. Latvian forward Janis Dumburs (198-96) answered with 23 points and 9 rebounds and naturalized American point guard Anish Sharda (188-82, college: St.Mary's, KS) added 16 points, 6 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals in the effort for Mainz. Four Mainz players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Kronberg moved-up to eleventh place in South-West, which they share with defeated Mainz. Mainz lost their third game in a row. Kronberg will face Limburg (#14) at home in the next round.
