Regular Season Round 12: Schwabing - Ansbach 85-96

Rather predictable result when seventh ranked Ansbach (6-5) defeated on the road 10th ranked Schwabing (4-7) 96-85 on Saturday. Ansbach dominated down low during the game scoring 60 of its points in the paint compared to Schwabing's 34. Schwabing was plagued by 26 personal fouls down the stretch. Worth to mention a great performance of American power forward Nick Freer (198-85, college: Grand Valley St., agency: Athleadz) who helped to win the game recording 28 points and 5 rebounds and forward Walter Simon (202-89, college: Cumberland) who added 24 points (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) during the contest. Four Ansbach players scored in double figures. Ansbach's coach Martin Ides used an eleven-player rotation and allowed the starting five to get some rest. The best for the losing side was William Bessoir (203-99) with 24 points and 8 rebounds and American swingman Nathan Gibbs (203-89, college: Westmont) scored 24 points and 8 rebounds (went 9 for 9 at the free throw line !!!). Ansbach moved-up to sixth place in South-East. Loser Schwabing dropped to the ninth position with seven games lost. Ansbach will face Jena II (#13) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Schwabing will play against TSV Troester (#5) in Breitenguessbach and hope to win that game.
