Regular Season Round 12: Bochum - Bernau 90-71

Very important is a road loss of second ranked SSV Lok Bernau (8-4) against eighth ranked AstroStars (6-6) on Saturday night. Visiting SSV Lok Bernau was crushed by AstroStars in Bochum 90-71. AstroStars dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to SSV Lok Bernau's 38. AstroStars forced 19 SSV Lok Bernau turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 29 assists comparing to just 14 passes made by SSV Lok Bernau's players. Worth to mention a great performance of guard Felix Engel (191-91) who helped to win the game recording 14 points and 8 assists and center Michael Haucke (210-85) who added 17 points and 6 rebounds during the contest. The best for the losing side was point guard Bennet Hundt (181-98, college: High School) with 15 points and American forward Dexter Werner (198-94, college: N.Dakota St.) scored 12 points and 7 rebounds. Four SSV Lok Bernau players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. AstroStars moved-up to sixth place in North, which they share with Rostock. SSV Lok Bernau at the other side keeps the second position with four games lost. They share it with Art.Dragons. AstroStars will meet Cuxhaven (#11) on the road in the next round where they are favorite. SSV Lok Bernau will play against Itzehoe (#9) and hope to secure a win.
