Regular Season Round 18: Vytis - KTU 89-72

NKL top team - Vytis (16-2) had no problems winning another game. This time they beat fourteenth ranked KTU (2-16) in Sakiai 89-72. Vytis forced 19 KTU turnovers. They shot the lights out from three nailing 15 long-distance shots on high 51.7 percentage. Vytis players were unselfish on offense dishing 26 assists. Guard Paulius Beliavicius (194-88) notched 19 points to lead the effort and center Edvinas Jezukevicius (207-90) supported him with 16 points. Four Vytis players scored in double figures. Even 12 points and 4 assists by forward Ignas Dauksys (198-93) did not help to save the game for KTU. Deividas Rinkunas (186-95) added 10 points. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Vytis have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 16-2 record. KTU lost eighth consecutive game. They stay at the bottom place with 16 games lost. Vytis will play against Zalgiris II (#7) in Kaunas in the next round where they are favorite. KTU will play on the road against Ezerunas (#11) in Moletai and hopes to get back on the winning track.
