Regular Season Round 13: Dnipro - Mykolaiv 102-80

Date: December 8, 2017
The game between Top Four teams took place in Dnepropetrovsk. First ranked host Dnipro (12-1) smashed 3rd placed Mykolaiv (6-6) 102-80. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Mykolaiv. The game was mostly controlled by Dnipro. Mykolaiv managed to win fourth quarter 23-10. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Dnipro looked well-organized offensively handing out 29 assists. International Olexandr Mishula (192-92) stepped up and scored 24 points and 9 assists for the winners and the former international forward Stanislav Tymofeyenko (204-89, agency: Octagon Europe) chipped in 22 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists. At the losing side center Oleksandr Kushnirov (210-92) responded with a double-double by scoring 10 points, 12 rebounds and 4 assists and the former international guard Sergei Popov (196-88, agency: BeoBasket) scored 13 points. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Dnipro have an impressive series of seven victories in a row. They maintain first place with 12-1 record. Mykolaiv at the other side dropped to the fourth position with six games lost. They share it with Cherkasy. Dnipro are looking forward to face bottom-ranked Zaporizhye (#8) in Zaporozhye in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Mykolaiv will play on the road against Politekhnik (#7) in Kharkiv and is hoping to prove to their supporters that the loss was just an accident.
