Regular Season Round 13: Rendsburg - Goetting.ASC 108-93

Everything could happen at the game between two tied teams. Both fifth ranked Rendsburg and 4th placed Goetting.ASC had identical 6-4 record. This time Rendsburg used a home court advantage and beat the opponent from Goettingen 108-93 on Saturday night. Rendsburg dominated down low during the game scoring 60 of its points in the paint compared to Goetting.ASC's 38. They outrebounded Goetting.ASC 58-39 including a 42-26 advantage in defensive rebounds. Goetting.ASC was plagued by 29 personal fouls down the stretch. American guard Garrett Jefferson (190-91, college: Cal.Baptist) fired 39 points (!!!) and 7 rebounds (on 15-of-19 shooting from the field) for the winners. Center Christopher Geist (208-95) chipped in a double-double by scoring 14 points, 18 rebounds and 4 assists. Guard Andrew Onwuegbuzie (192-95) produced 35 points (!!!), 9 rebounds and 7 assists and forward Julian Schmidt (196-83) added 18 points and 14 rebounds respectively for lost side. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Rendsburg (7-4) moved-up to third place in North, which they share with Aschersleben and Vechta II. Newly promoted Goetting.ASC dropped to the sixth position with five games lost. Rendsburg will face Weser Bsk/BTS (#12) in Neustadt in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Goetting.ASC will play at home against Aschersleben (#3) and hope to win that game.
