Regular Season Round 13: Salzkotten - Herford 78-68

We cannot really consider it an upset in the game between close teams when 8th ranked Herford (6-8) was defeated on the road by ninth ranked Salzkotten (6-8) 78-68 on Saturday. Salzkotten made 18-of-21 free shots (85.7 percent) during the game. They also forced 19 Herford turnovers. Swingman Felix Wenningkamp (195-88) fired 22 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. Center Thomas Stukenberg (206-92) chipped in a double-double by scoring 10 points and 13 rebounds. Canadian-British forward Kris Douse (198-86, college: Point Park) produced a double-double by scoring 16 points and 12 rebounds and point guard Bastian Landgraf (194-95) added 5 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists respectively for lost side. Both coaches tested many bench players saving starting five for next games. Salzkotten moved-up to eighth place in West, which they share with defeated Herford. Salzkotten will face higher ranked Hagen BG (#6) at home in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
