An interesting game took place in Alytus where 6th ranked Dzukija (5-9) was upset on its own court by ninth ranked Siauliai (4-10) 83-58 on Sunday. The best player for the winners was forward Donatas Sabeckis (197-92) who scored 16 points and 7 assists. American swingman Akeem Wright (200-84, college: Kansas St., agency: Octagon Europe) chipped in 16 points and 6 rebounds. Wright is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Five Siauliai players scored in double figures. Russian center Anatoly Kashirov (215-87) produced 12 points and Croatian forward Domagoj Samac (206-93, college: Ft.Hays State, agency: Alti Sport) added 10 points respectively for the hosts. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Siauliai moved-up to eighth place, which they share with Juventus. Dzukija lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the sixth position with nine games lost. Siauliai will meet higher ranked Lietuvos rytas (#4) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Dzukija will play against P.Zvaigzdes and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
