An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Ilhavo. Leader Benfica faced 4th placed Illiabum. Guests from Lisbona (11-0) defeated host Illiabum (6-5) 80-67. The best player for the winners was American forward Antywane Robinson (203-84, college: Temple) who scored 17 points. The former international swingman Jose Silva (194-89) chipped in 16 points. At the other side the best for losing team was American guard Ronnie Boggs (192-91, college: Jacksonville St.) who recorded 19 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists and Serbian forward Filip Pejovic (198-89, college: Erskine) added 13 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists respectively. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Benfica have an impressive series of eleven victories in a row. Defending champion maintains first place with 11-0 record. Illiabum lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the fifth position with five games lost. They share it with Terceira and CAB Madeira. Benfica are looking forward to face Vitoria SC (#4) in Guimaraes in the next round. Illiabum will play at home against FC Porto Ferpinta and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
