Regular Season Round 22: Telsiai - Taurages 80-64

There was no surprise in Telsiu where 7th ranked Taurages (10-12) was defeated by fifth ranked Telsiai (12-10) 80-64 on Saturday. Forward Vilius Pocius (197-95) fired 15 points and 6 assists for the winners. Guard Erikas Kubilius (194-95) chipped in 16 points and 6 rebounds. Four Telsiai players scored in double figures. Point guard Aivaras Kvedaravicius (185-88) produced 18 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists and power forward Rokas Cepanonis (207-89) added 10 points and 8 rebounds respectively for lost side. Taurages' coach Edvardas Zemgulis tested ten players seeing no chance for a win. Telsiai maintains fifth position with 12-10 record, which they share with Zalgiris II. Newly promoted Taurages dropped to the eighth place with 12 games lost. Telsiai will face higher ranked Neptunas-Akv. (#4) in Klaipeda in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Taurages will play on the road against Zalgiris II (#6) in Kaunas and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
