Another interesting game was a derby match between two local teams from Istanbul: Acibadem (#10) and Istanbulspor (#11). Acibadem (7-7) won against visiting Istanbulspor (6-8) 82-72. Acibadem made 16-of-19 free shots (84.2 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. The best player for the winners was American-Georgian guard Michael Dixon (186-90, college: Memphis) who scored 26 points and 5 steals. Point guard Yigitcan Turna (187-87) chipped in 15 points and 9 assists (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field). Four Acibadem players scored in double figures. American forward Tyler Smith (200-86, college: Tennessee) produced 21 points and 8 rebounds and guard Gokhan Aydin (191-95) added 21 points respectively for the guests. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Acibadem moved-up to eighth place, which they share with Duzce Bld. and Akhisar Bld. Istanbulspor lost third consecutive game. They keep the eleventh position with eight games lost. Acibadem will face higher ranked Bandirma Kir. (#5) in Balikesir in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Istanbulspor will play at home against Selcuklu (#4) and hope to win that game.
