Regular Season Round 15: Politekhnik - Dnipro 59-69

Superleague top team - Dnipro (14-1) managed to deliver another win on Thursday. This time they beat seventh ranked Politekhnik (2-13) in Kharkiv 69-59. The game without a history. Dnipro led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to Politekhnik's 22. Dnipro forced 25 Politekhnik turnovers. It was a good game for the former international forward Stanislav Tymofeyenko (204-89, agency: Octagon Europe) who led his team to a victory with 16 points and 7 rebounds. International swingman Dmytro Gliebov (198-88) contributed with 10 points, 6 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 steals for the winners. Four Dnipro players scored in double figures. Dnipro's coach Denys Zhuravlov used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Guard Roman Kozlov (190-90) answered with 17 points and 6 rebounds and Serbian center Nikola Vujovic (210-93, college: Georgian Court) added 10 points and 12 rebounds in the effort for Politekhnik. Dnipro have an impressive series of nine victories in a row. They maintain first place with 14-1 record. Politekhnik lost sixth consecutive game. They keep the seventh position with 13 games lost. They share it with Zaporizhye. Dnipro are looking forward to face Bipa Basket (#6) in Odessa in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Politekhnik will play at home against Khimik and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
