Second ranked Neptunas (14-3) crushed at home 9th ranked Vytautas (4-13) by 21 points 104-83, which is the biggest margin this round on Wednesday night. The game without a history. Neptunas led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 66 of its points in the paint compared to Vytautas' 44. Neptunas looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. The best player for the winners was power forward Simas Galdikas (203-87) who scored 18 points and 8 rebounds (perfect from the field making all nine shots !!!). Forward Edgaras Zelionis (207-89) chipped in 13 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists. Neptunas' coach Kazys Maksvytis felt very confident that he used 11 players and allowed the starting five to rest. International forward Martynas Linkevicius (197-85, agency: Octagon Europe) produced 18 points and 8 rebounds and international swingman Edvinas Seskus (196-95, agency: Players Group) added 18 points and 6 rebounds respectively for the guests. Five Neptunas and four Vytautas players scored in double figures. Neptunas have an impressive seven-game winning streak. They maintain second position with 14-3 record behind leader Zalgiris. Vytautas lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the ninth place with 13 games lost. Neptunas will meet at home Siauliai (#7) in the next round where they are favorite. Vytautas will play against Lietuvos rytas in Vilnius and hope to secure a win.
